Rail Traffic for Lumber is Finishing 2012 with a Boom

Rail traffic for lumber and wood products is finishing 2012 in a big way. The last four weeks rail traffic has increased more than 6% per week. The last 24 years of rail traffic data graph’s high and lows look strikingly similar, whereas the 2012 rail traffic for the last four weeks has increased over the traditional December and Holiday break. The increases started after Superstorm Sandy – see graph below.
